This is a podcast about what it's like to write your first book at 60 and what not to do along the way.

Seriously, I learned so much. For instance, if you have a witch travelling forward in time to present day Washington, DC, maybe think about what year she was born. Then think about what she might have seen that would be of interest to the present-day crowd. We're talking, figure out a timeline. Also, and this is critical, those main characters need to be FLAWED. Like, in real need of therapy. I didn't do this (because I loved them) and they became somewhat Mary Sue and Gary Sue in appearance. (This is to be avoided. Find out why.) SO MANY THINGS NOT TO DO! I'll lay my mistakes all out there for you to enjoy (and avoid.)
